Yes - BOTB'13 - i.e. Battle of the Beadsmith -toughest roughest greatest and longest beading competition ever organised by --- oh c'mon you all know who is he. As you see I had lots to do in the spring - in addition my name was from the beginning on the list  - and as being on of the first round invitees - this is something I would never ignore. Deadline was given clearly stated - yet came on top of all the other deadlines. If you ever learn how to priorize - now it was really useful knowledge. At least I can say I ordered all materials in time, everything arrived a month before I started to work on my piece and the design was in my head, and on paper too...../ Igen - BOTB'13 - vagyis a Battle of the Beadsmith - a legkeményebb, legdurvább, legnagyszerűbb és leghosszabb gyöngyös verseny amit valaha is megrendezett - akinek ugye mindenki tudja a nevét :) Amint olvastátok, eléggé sűrű napjaim voltak tavasszal, és mivel a nevem a kezdetek óta szerepelt az első meghívottak között, nem tehetem meg, hogy figyelmen kívül hagyom. A határidő pontosan meg volt határozva jó előre - mégis minden addigi határidős munkám tetejére nehezedett. Ha valaha tanultál időgazdálkodni, a feladataidat priorizálni, az ilyenkor nagyon hasznos tudás. Legalább elmondhatom, hogy az alapanyagok egy hónappal  azelőtt megérkeztek mielőtt nekiláttam :)

You know my entry by now well enough so this time I rather write about the photo shooting./Nos a nyakláncot jól ismeritek, sokáig eljutott így a kedvenc képemről, és a fotózásról írok inkább.

 

When the latest Battle started - I surely knew that my friend Bea will be the perfect model for whatever piece I make for the competition. I knew the colours, shapes and layout, but no matter how accurately I planned every detail in my head - the first battles came so quickly that I had neither time nor the money to pay a professional team i.e. photographer, make-up artist, stylist. I promised myself after winning each battle that I organise something to get a modelled photo.....I remembered - that we talked about this with her in the winter, so when I met her in the spring she was happy to announce she expects a babygirl, yet she is not sure by the time we make the pictures in summer, how she would look like :) / Amikor a verseny elkezdődött - már akkor tudtam, hogy Bea barátnőm lesz a legtökéletesebb modell, bármivel is nevezek majd. Megvoltak a színek, a formák, a terv, de mindegy mennyire alaposan készültem fel fejben és dolgoztam ki valamennyi részletet - az első fordulók olyan gyorsan követték egymást, hogy sem időm, sem pénzem nem volt összehozni egy profi fotózást, lásd: profi fotós, sminkes, stylist. Minden győztes forduló után megígértem magamnak, hogy kerítek elfogadható modelles fotót......emlékszem még a télen meg is beszéltük Beával, aztán tavasszal jött az örömhír, hogy újra babát vár, viszont aggódott, hogy ahogy gömbölyödik a pocakja, vajon hogy fog mutatni a képeken a nyárra.

Finally just before the deadline she came over. It was raining in the morning, and mostly before noon - but thanks to the higher powers the sun started shining and had a lovely weather until sunset :) So when you look at the photo above you might think of a professional crew and at least 300 shots to chose from.....come and take a sneak peak behind the curtains!!! / Végül egyetlen nappal a leadási határidő előtt összehoztunk egy találkát nálunk. Egész reggel esett az eső és felhős volt az ég, aztán a mennyek ura megkönyörült és gyönyörű napsütés kísért egészen napnyugtáig. Ha a fenti fotót nézed, biztosan egy profi stáb jut eszedbe és vagy 300 kattintás, mire ez az egy ilyen lett....hát gyere és kukkants be a függöny mögé!!!

Then our Fan Club cheering us up - Los Hatvanitos - the Guitar SuperDuo/ A rajongói csapatunk, aki gondoskodott a jó hangulatról.

And last but not least the technical support, the best babysitter and handyman (Daddy) / És végül de nem utolsósorban a technikai háttér, a legjobb gyerekfelügyelő és mindenes (Apa).

It was a fantastic day, we laughed a lot and had such a great time :) But most of all, no matter how you pose and do your makeup, the best photos are always show your natural beauty and smile. So here is my favourite one of Bea so happy and beautiful being 36 weeks pregnant with a cute babygirl. :)/ Csodálatos nap volt, potyogtak a könnyeink a nevetéstől. :) A lényeg, hogy bárhogy sminkelsz, pózolsz, a legjobb fotók mindig azok, amiken mosolyogsz és természetes vagy. És végül ez az én kedvencem Beáról - annyira szép és boldog pocakjában a 36 hetes kislányával :)

Beaders United First Color Challenge

It was still sometime in spring when I was invited to join an ETSY Team - Beaders United, established by nice fellow beaders - a kind and friendly community to join, once you are passionate about beads. They have organised their first color challenge - and I decided - if I can make something by the given deadline, I surely will enter the challenge. This was the color palette I chose :) / Még tavasszal történt valamikor, hogy meghívást kaptam, hogy csatlakozzam a Beaders United csapathoz azt ETSY-n, amit kedves gyöngyös ismerősök alapítottak - kedves barátságos csapat tele tehetséges gyöngyösökkel. Éppen akkor rendezték az első színpaletta kihívást - és úgy döntöttem - ha a határidőig elkészülök azzal az ékszerrel, amit kitaláltam, akkor szívesen nevezek vele. A két skálából én ezt választottam :)

I made the neckpiece below - and the real surprise came, when upon member's votes I was chosen to be the WINNER :) Thank you - I am so grateful :) The prize I got from Sandy Tally was a great beady pack full of purple Swarovskis, ultrasuede, beadbacking spacers, beads - I used those treasures greedily before I made any photo of it...Soooorry/ Az alábbi nyakéket sikerült időre elkészítenem és legnagyobb meglepetésemre a tagok szavazatai alapján én nyertem  :) Köszönöm szépen, nagyon megtisztelő! A nyereményem pedig egy gyöngyös csomag volt Sandy Tally-től tele lila swarikkal gyöngyökkel ultrasuede-dal és hímzőalappal - annyira mohón elhasználtam őket, hogy le sem fotóztam.....bocsi.....)

Happy New Year!!!/ Boldog Új Évet!!! (english version below)

Sziasztok :) Ezer éve...igaz? Hát nem volt semmi ez az utolsó két hónap :) Átköltöztünk a szépséges új házunkba (igen-igen - végül nem építkeztünk, hanem vettünk egyet - így a válság idején jobban megérte - sokkal jobban - szinte a felébe került annak, amit eredetileg terveztünk). Az utolsó pillanatokig kétségek közt vergődve vártuk a Bank (a Gonosz Bankja...) visszajelzését, először a hitelképességről, aztán az előzetes hitelbírálatról, aztán az értékbecslésről......de végre-végre sikerült :) November 1-től hivatalosan is itt lakunk. A házunkat a rokonok csak várkastélynak és rezidenciának csúfolják, hát mindig is lesznek irigy emberek.....száz szónak is egy a vége - most már elférünk és az igazat megvallva 10 év 43 nm-en nyomorgás után ránk fért, hogy legyen helyünk, főleg a fiúk miatt is - mert hát eccer lesznek ők is kamaszok.

Így a téli zord hidegben nem fotóztam sokat a házban és a ház körül, de ígérem, amint lesz valami érdekes történés, feltétlenül megosztom veletek. Addig is egy panorámakép a teraszról - igen, még mindig Miskolc Belváros :)

Szóval akik ismernek, tudják, hogy kemény időszak van mögöttem, mögöttünk. Július óta 2x dobozoltam be egyedül mindent - először 2 gyerekkel és nagy pocakkal, aztán egy pár hetes újszülöttel - mindezt tökegyedül, minden segítség nélkül. Aztán ahogy beköszöntött a tél - és még mindig dobozokból éltünk, öltözködtünk, beállított a férjem 93 éves nagyapja, hogy ideköltözik, és így is lett.....sejthetitek mennyi szabadidőm maradt bármire.....

A helyzet megoldódott az új évre és lám kezdtem magamra találni. Jutott időm hímezni, adventolni, karácsonyi előkészülni....stb. Bár gyerekfelügyelet híján kénytelen volt a Jézuska interneten bevásárolni szinte mindent.

Nos íme az első kincs - egy örök darab türkiz picassoval - korall fosszíliával - azurittal - régen nekiveselkedtem, de napok teltek el úgy, hogy hozzá sem jutottam. Azért elkészült - talán emlékeztek, megígértem magamnak, hogy nem hagyok torzókat:)

Aztán jött egy nyáron kitervelt és megkezdett zöldség:

Végül pedig egy lila karkötő sok sok bogyóval és Swarival....

Azóta is folyamatosan jár az a "mogyorónyi" (ahogy a férjem szokta mondani....hahaha) - és gondolatban tervezem az újabb darabokat - már csak idő kell hozzá - maxi-sok :)

Persze a leges legfontosabb, hogy egy ilyen kimerítő és megterhelő fél év után a lehető legtöbbet legyek együtt a fiúkkal (Misi, Marci, Máté és Gáborom) - mert az idő rohan és ezek azok a pillanatok, amik nem jönnek vissza soha :) Ezúton kívánok mindannyiótoknak fantasztikusan sikeres és boldog új évet :)

Hi there :) It's been a while ... right? Well, the last two months were the most difficult in my whole life :) We moved to a beautiful new house (yes, yes – finally we skipped builing a brand new one, but bought one - so the crisis worked for us i.e. – we spent almost half the cost of what was originally planned for building). We were struggling of doubt till the last moments expected the Bank’s (the Bank of Evil ...) feedback, preliminary estimations for our credibility, then the valuation ...... but finally-finally :) from 1 st November officially we do live here. Relatives just call it castle or residence – well yeah – there will always be envy people not knowing the exact circumstances and mortgage ....anyhow – after 10 years of living in a 43 sqm flat we soooooo deserve it and great to know that my sons will enjoy themselves and have enough room for everything.

There is not much to show in this foggy cold and harsh wintertime inside the house or around but I promise you, as there will be some interesting stories, be sure to share with you. In the meantime, here is the view from the terrace - yes, it is still Miskolc :)

So those who know me know that there is a tough time behind me, behind us. Since July, I put all our lives in boxes twice all by myself – first time with two children and my huge belly, and then with a newborn baby - all completely alone, without any help. Then, as winter has arrived - and we still lived in boxes, dressed from boxes, my husband’s 93 year old grandpa showed up and moved in for the winter. So he stayed..... guess how much free time I have left for anything else.....

The situation has been resolved with the new year and as you see I began to find myself again. Had time to embroider, had lovely advent and had plenty of time even to prepare for Christmas .... etc.. Although the lack of proper babysitter was forced little Jesus to choose online shopping for almost everything.

Well here is the first treasure - an eternal piece of turquoise Picasso beads - coral fossil - azurite- recently dragged, but days passed without even had the time to touch it. It is finished finally- maybe you remember, I promised myself that I would not leave thorsos :)

Then came here is a very green necklace which were in my mind since the summer:

Finally, a purple bracelet with lots of berries .... and Swarovski rivolis.

I have been continuously planning with my brain - and I keep designing the newer pieces –I only need time - extremely lot of time to realize everything I want :)

Of course, the most important thing after  such a strenuous and demanding half year to spend as much time with the boys (Mike, Marty, Matt and Gábor) as possible – Time flies incredibly quick and these are the moments that do not ever come back :) I wish extremely successful, and Very Happy New Year to all of you :)

Sziporkázó Nyári Nap/ Sparkling Summer Sun

A Battle of the Beadsmith 2012 versenymunkám után (amit teljesen leszívta az energiáimat és nem lett annyira olyan, mint amilyet igazán szerettem volna) - kicsit rápihenve, megihletődve készült el ez a nyakék.
 

 

A régebbi Sziporkázó Szenvedély és a hasonló csontfaragott Bali kabosonnal készült Belső Mosoly karkötőim nyomán, és azok színvilágát továbbfejlesztve született meg ez a mesés ékszer. 

A BOTB munkámat kb. 107 000 ember látta a Facebookon és olyan erős mezőnynek lehettem tagja, hogy az igazat megvallva úgy érzem, muszáj egyre jobbnak és jobbnak lennem, tökéletesítve a színösszeállításaimat, textúráimat és ez egyre precízebb dizájnokat. 

Ez persze azt is jelenti, hogy ezentúl biztosan lassítani fogok a tempón, és bár a hímzés gyorsan megy, az előkészülteteket, a tervezést nem fogom elsietni.

  

 

Ne kérdezzétek mennyibe került az alapanyag, csupa bronz, arany, Swarovski, sárgaréz .....mindent összefésültem az itthoni készleteimből, hogy a lehető legigényesebb ékszer születhessen meg belőle.

Sajnos a fotókkal továbbra sem vagyok megelégedve, de azért remélem így is tetszik nektek :)

This Art Neck Piece was inspired by my favourite gold shade called Gold Iris. I chose a balinese hand carved bone face cabochon as centerpiece, which which is very rare, tribal and 100% handmade. The stones are Swarovski rivolis in different sizes and colours.

This collar is beaded with over 20 000 beads from finest delicas up to twisted bugle beads. The inner lenght of the collar is 16 1/2 inches (approx. 42 cm) closing with a golden leaf toggle clasp – can be adjusted upon request. The middle of this neckpiece is 6 1/2 in (16 cm) long including the fringe. The backing is antique gold lambskin from an italian tannery of Solofra.

Sparkling Seduction/ Sziporkázó Szenvedély

My most precious baby is on her way to the Big Apple. Happy and sad thing - always nice to experience whenever a creation of mine is finding a new home - but remembering the time and love I spent on creating this beauty makes me a bit sad. Anyway :) Here she is - the way I want to keep in my memories:)

Sohasem könnyű.....a legkedvesebb szüleményem ma elutazott New Yorkba....Az egyik szemem sír, a másik nevet. Sír, ha arra a rengeteg időre és szeretetre gondol, amibe az elkészítése került, és örül, hogy új otthonra talált. Íme, én így szeretném megőrizni az emlékeimben :)

Happy New Year

It has been a while since I last blogged. Let's say 2011 was an interesting but least happy year in my life. After all I am back and believe that 2012 will be lot more fun and creativity.
The great thing was last year to join a voluntary event helping Miskolc Animal Shelter with professional photos of posh girls adopting those kind friendly dogs. I will blog about this later I promise. Also I will list and share my latest pieces one by one.

The first good thing in this year was to create these pieces for Natasha for her wedding. I hope she will love to wear them on her big day as much as I loved making them. The cuff pattern was inspired by Ann Benson and the collar was designed to match that marvelous bracelet.

Natasha contacted me and we made a co-op process to finally become a real design. Let me know how you like it :)

La Primavera - Springtime Symphony Bead Embroidered Art Neck Piece - EBWC

This Art Neck Piece was inspired by the fresh pink and white colours of the blooming trees, the first green leaves and the dews of the early mornings
This collar is beaded with over 25 000 beads used Toho japanese glass beads in 10 various colours of pink and green, and swarovski pearls. The centerpice is a beautiful pink and green marbled rhodonite teardrop cabochon (6x4 cm) embellished with the finest thai silver Karen Hill Tribe Flower (95%< pure silver). The leaves are made up of lemon and dark green jade drops. The back of the collar is closing with 2 sterling silver leaf toggle clasps connected with an indian agate beaded cabochon. The inner lenght of the collar is 16 inches (approx. 41 cm) – can be adjusted upon request. The middle of this neckpiece is 6 in (15 cm) long including the fringe. The backing is black Toray ultrasuede – makes comfortable for wearing this beauty.

Dragonfly Diva – Black and Turquoise Art Nouveau Style Bead Embroidered Collar

This Art Neck Piece was inspired by Art Nouveau movement and especially my ever favourite artist – Charles Rennie McIntosh.

Jewellery of the Art Nouveau period revitalised the jeweller's art, with nature as the principal source of inspiration, complemented by new levels of virtuosity in enamelling and the introduction of new materials, such as opals and semi-precious stones. The widespread interest in Japanese art and the more specialised enthusiasm for Japanese metalworking skills fostered new themes and approaches to ornament.

For the previous two centuries, the emphasis in fine jewellery had been on gemstones, particularly on the diamond, and the jeweller or goldsmith had been principally concerned with providing settings for their advantage. With Art Nouveau, a different type of jewellery emerged, motivated by the artist-designer rather than the jeweller as setter of precious stones.

The jewellers of Paris and Brussels defined Art Nouveau in jewellery, and in these cities it achieved the most renown. Contemporary French critics were united in acknowledging that jewellery was undergoing a radical transformation, and that the French designer-jeweller-glassmaker René Lalique was at its heart. This collar is beaded with over 20 000 beads from finest delicas up to 30mm long bugle beads. In the center as the body of the dragonfly there are 5 genuine turquoise stones and additional ornament you can find in the same colour small square shaped mother of pearl beads. The inner lenght of the collar is 16  inches (approx. 41 cm) closing with a silver dragonfly toggle clasp – can be adjusted upon request. The middle of this neckpiece is 6 in (15 cm) long including the fringe.

Sakura - Cherry Blossoms - Bead Embroidered Collar

This collar is made with a beaded cherry tree branch, a touch of spring in the most elegant way that dresses you up smart and chic. Good combination with the famous "little black dress" or other evening party wear.

This Art Neck Piece is beaded with finest selection of Toho seed beads such as pale mauve, marbled pink and cherry blossom, Iris brown bugles and Miyuki fringe drops in milky pink. Over a 100 gramms of seed beads, which is about 12 000 tiny pieces - like the finest mosaic. The clasp is a large gold plated leaf toggle clasp.
Size is for the inner - 16 1/2 in (42 cm) that can be adjusted upon request. The middle is 4 1/4 in (11 cm) long including fringe. The backing is soft black Toray Ultrasuede.
