Happy New Year!!!/ Boldog Új Évet!!! (english version below)

Sziasztok :) Ezer éve...igaz? Hát nem volt semmi ez az utolsó két hónap :) Átköltöztünk a szépséges új házunkba (igen-igen - végül nem építkeztünk, hanem vettünk egyet - így a válság idején jobban megérte - sokkal jobban - szinte a felébe került annak, amit eredetileg terveztünk). Az utolsó pillanatokig kétségek közt vergődve vártuk a Bank (a Gonosz Bankja...) visszajelzését, először a hitelképességről, aztán az előzetes hitelbírálatról, aztán az értékbecslésről......de végre-végre sikerült :) November 1-től hivatalosan is itt lakunk. A házunkat a rokonok csak várkastélynak és rezidenciának csúfolják, hát mindig is lesznek irigy emberek.....száz szónak is egy a vége - most már elférünk és az igazat megvallva 10 év 43 nm-en nyomorgás után ránk fért, hogy legyen helyünk, főleg a fiúk miatt is - mert hát eccer lesznek ők is kamaszok.

Így a téli zord hidegben nem fotóztam sokat a házban és a ház körül, de ígérem, amint lesz valami érdekes történés, feltétlenül megosztom veletek. Addig is egy panorámakép a teraszról - igen, még mindig Miskolc Belváros :)

Szóval akik ismernek, tudják, hogy kemény időszak van mögöttem, mögöttünk. Július óta 2x dobozoltam be egyedül mindent - először 2 gyerekkel és nagy pocakkal, aztán egy pár hetes újszülöttel - mindezt tökegyedül, minden segítség nélkül. Aztán ahogy beköszöntött a tél - és még mindig dobozokból éltünk, öltözködtünk, beállított a férjem 93 éves nagyapja, hogy ideköltözik, és így is lett.....sejthetitek mennyi szabadidőm maradt bármire.....

A helyzet megoldódott az új évre és lám kezdtem magamra találni. Jutott időm hímezni, adventolni, karácsonyi előkészülni....stb. Bár gyerekfelügyelet híján kénytelen volt a Jézuska interneten bevásárolni szinte mindent.

Nos íme az első kincs - egy örök darab türkiz picassoval - korall fosszíliával - azurittal - régen nekiveselkedtem, de napok teltek el úgy, hogy hozzá sem jutottam. Azért elkészült - talán emlékeztek, megígértem magamnak, hogy nem hagyok torzókat:)

Aztán jött egy nyáron kitervelt és megkezdett zöldség:

Végül pedig egy lila karkötő sok sok bogyóval és Swarival....

Azóta is folyamatosan jár az a "mogyorónyi" (ahogy a férjem szokta mondani....hahaha) - és gondolatban tervezem az újabb darabokat - már csak idő kell hozzá - maxi-sok :)

Persze a leges legfontosabb, hogy egy ilyen kimerítő és megterhelő fél év után a lehető legtöbbet legyek együtt a fiúkkal (Misi, Marci, Máté és Gáborom) - mert az idő rohan és ezek azok a pillanatok, amik nem jönnek vissza soha :) Ezúton kívánok mindannyiótoknak fantasztikusan sikeres és boldog új évet :)

Hi there :) It's been a while ... right? Well, the last two months were the most difficult in my whole life :) We moved to a beautiful new house (yes, yes – finally we skipped builing a brand new one, but bought one - so the crisis worked for us i.e. – we spent almost half the cost of what was originally planned for building). We were struggling of doubt till the last moments expected the Bank’s (the Bank of Evil ...) feedback, preliminary estimations for our credibility, then the valuation ...... but finally-finally :) from 1 st November officially we do live here. Relatives just call it castle or residence – well yeah – there will always be envy people not knowing the exact circumstances and mortgage ....anyhow – after 10 years of living in a 43 sqm flat we soooooo deserve it and great to know that my sons will enjoy themselves and have enough room for everything.

There is not much to show in this foggy cold and harsh wintertime inside the house or around but I promise you, as there will be some interesting stories, be sure to share with you. In the meantime, here is the view from the terrace - yes, it is still Miskolc :)

So those who know me know that there is a tough time behind me, behind us. Since July, I put all our lives in boxes twice all by myself – first time with two children and my huge belly, and then with a newborn baby - all completely alone, without any help. Then, as winter has arrived - and we still lived in boxes, dressed from boxes, my husband’s 93 year old grandpa showed up and moved in for the winter. So he stayed..... guess how much free time I have left for anything else.....

The situation has been resolved with the new year and as you see I began to find myself again. Had time to embroider, had lovely advent and had plenty of time even to prepare for Christmas .... etc.. Although the lack of proper babysitter was forced little Jesus to choose online shopping for almost everything.

Well here is the first treasure - an eternal piece of turquoise Picasso beads - coral fossil - azurite- recently dragged, but days passed without even had the time to touch it. It is finished finally- maybe you remember, I promised myself that I would not leave thorsos :)

Then came here is a very green necklace which were in my mind since the summer:

Finally, a purple bracelet with lots of berries .... and Swarovski rivolis.

I have been continuously planning with my brain - and I keep designing the newer pieces –I only need time - extremely lot of time to realize everything I want :)

Of course, the most important thing after  such a strenuous and demanding half year to spend as much time with the boys (Mike, Marty, Matt and Gábor) as possible – Time flies incredibly quick and these are the moments that do not ever come back :) I wish extremely successful, and Very Happy New Year to all of you :)

Tavirózsák / Waterlilies (english version below)

A sujtás technikájával több, mint egy éve találkoztam az EBW-ben. Páran próbálgatták a szárnyaikat, és két zseniális gyöngyös lánynak nagyon jól sikerültek a művei. Az egyikük Anneta Valious, a másik pedig Miriam Shimon.....Az igazat megvallva, maga a technika valamiért idegen maradt a számomra még hosszú ideig. Azt hiszem a textilékszerekkel nem vagyok megbékélve - hiányzik belőlük egyfajta törékeny elegancia és csillogás, ami nekem fontos mind az ékszerek készítésénél, mind a viselendő ékszerek kiválasztásánál. Eltelt egy bő év és nálunk is egyre többen kaptak rá a sujtásra. 

Persze ezért sem siettem el kipróbálni. Nagyon kevesen csinálják igazán precízen és pontosan, pedig a szálfeszességen és az egyenletesen egymás mellett kanyarodó selyemzsinórokon áll vagy bukik minden. Elsőre rettentő bonyolultnak tűnt. Nem a technika (lévén a gyöngyhímzésnél is egyszerűbb az egész), hanem inkább a kacskaringók tekeredésének irányítása - a harmonikus dizájn. Czibulyás Eszter barátnémtól kérdezgettem óvatosan, hogy hogy is kell ezt. Aztán kaptam egy névnapi próbálj ki csomagot hozzávalókkal. :) Fogdostam a zsinórokat, tekergettem az ujjaim körül és rákerestem a neten is, hogy más művészek miket hoznak ki a sujtásból szerte a nagyvilágban. Eszter közben irányítgatott, küldött linkeket, hiszen ő maga is fantasztikus mestere a dolognak :) Köszönöm Eszter - minden a te hibád!!!! :) 

Eszter csomagján felbuzdulva nyakamba vettem Miskolcot és találtam is zsinórokat mind a 4 rövidáru boltban 60-80 Ft/méter áron. Igaz az arany és az ezüst kicsivel drágább, de azt hiszem 115 Ft-ot még elvisel a pénztárcám :) 

Itthon aztán jó 3 hete elővettem őket és nézegettem, de mégsem fogtam hozzá.

Aztán tegnap reggel rámtört az alkothatnék és bár a fiaim nyüzsögtek-zsizsegtek szépen komótosan nekiláttam. 

Bár a hozzávalókat gondosan összefésültem és a kompozíció először papíron kanyarodott - azért menet közben is rengeteget alakult a dolog. Ilyen amikor a terv találkozik a fizikai valósággal. Hol elvesz belőle, hol hozzátesz újabb lehetőségeket.

Rájöttem, hogy a kezdeti idegenkedésemet a textilékszerekkel kapcsolatban kitűnően halványítja a kristályok szikrázó csillogása és eleganciája, a minőségi drágakövek és igényes kellékek arzenálja. Potom 4 óra alatt készült el a mű tokkal vonóval és természetesen nagy műgonddal. :)

Az igazi meglepetés akkor ért, amikor felpróbáltam :) Annyira mesés és elegáns :) Szerintem nem ez lesz az utolsó :)

I met the soutache technique in EBW over a year ago. Some fellow beaders tried their wings and two artists reached a brilliant success in their works. Anneta Valious and Miriam Shimon :)

Actually, the technique was somewhat strange for me for a long time. I think I'm not a great fan of textile jewelry - for me they lack a kind of fragile elegance and glamor, which is important for me in jewelry making and chosing jewelry to wear for myself. More than a year went by and so many people hooked on Soutache in Hungary as well.

Of course, this also explains why I was not in a hurry to try it out. Very few people do it really precisely and accurately, and the tension of the thread as they make those slippy silk cords so perfectly curving together is the main key to the success. At first glance seemed extremely complicated. It is not the technique (being lot more simple than bead embroidery), but directing the curves towards a harmonic design. I asked my friend Eszter Czibulyás about tips and tricks. Then one day I got a little "Try me Out" carepack with soutache supplies. I was sitting at my desk, touching the silk cords, twisted around my fingers and searched on the net, what other artists bring out of soutache around the world. Eszter was very supportive and helpful, sent several links, for she is a master of this amazing technique :) Thank you Eszter -  it's all your fault!! :) Encouraged by Eszter's package I took a trip around Miskolc - and in 4 small shops I found nice braided cords for about HUF 60-80 / m (USD 0,30). It is true that gold and silver is slightly more expensive, but I think HUF 115 (USD 0,50) was still tolerable for my wallet :) At home I gathered all that I was thinking of making something out of  - but it has been nearly 3 weeks ago, and nothing happened. 

Then yesterday morning the feeling/ the need/ the inspiration came finally and even my boys were cheeky and loud I slowly started something. Although the ingredients were combed carefully together and the composition was first turned out on paper - reality changes often a lot of things. When the plan meets physical reality. Where to skip, where to gain new opportunities. I realized that my initial dislike towards textile jewelry was fading perfectly by the sparkle of the glamorous crystals, the elegance of quality gemstones and high quality accessories arsenal. The project took 4 hours in total to realize - yes Ladies and Gents - This is not a Rocket Science!!!!
The real surprise came when I tried the necklace on :) It's so elegant and fabulous :) I do not think this will be the last creation of mine with soutache :)

Májusi eső aranyat ér :)

Igen, sajnos megint a négy fal között telt az elmúlt pár nap.....hűvös nyálkás idő volt, de hamar feltaláltam magam :) Régóta szerettem volna egy lila - ezüstfehér karkötőt ametiszttel - íme az eredmény :)

Heather Moon / Hanga és Holdfény

Heather Moon – Bead Embroidered Necklace and Earrings Set with Amethyst and Labradorite

This set was created around 3 vintage buttons accompanied with genuine amethyst and labradorite cabochons, beaded with my favourite Tohos (finest japanese glass beads) in brown iris and highter metallic plum iris. 

The backing is soft black ultrasuede. The necklace is 21 inch (54 cm) long closing with a brass dolphin clasp. Pendant measures 2 ¾  x 1 ¼ in. (65 x 32 mm) including czech glass drop.

The earrings are 1 7/8 x 1 in (45x25 mm) hanging on 99,5% pure Hill Tribe thai silver earwires, therefore perfect present for the ones with metal allergy.

This is a set -  materials selected to be so  – therefore cannot be split.

Hanga és Holdfény – Gyöngyhímzett Nyaklánc és Fülbevaló Szett Ametisztel és Labradorittal

Ez az együttes 3 fémgomb alappal készült. Ametisztel és labradorit kabosonokkal díszítettem és írisz barna és metál szilva színű Toho gyöngyökkel hímeztem. A hátlapja fekete velúr.

A nyaklánc hossza 54 cm, sárgaréz delfinkapoccsal záródik. A medál mérete 65x32 mm a cseh lila üvegcseppel együtt.

A fülbevalók mérete 45x25 mm, a függők 99,5% valódi Karen Hill Tribe Thai ezüstből vannak, ezért tökéletes azok számára is akiknek fémallergiájuk van.

Ez egy szett, az alapanyagok is így lettek összeválogatva – ezért nem bontom külön csak fülbevalóra, vagy csak nyakláncra.

Iris - Bead Embroidered Necklace

 I had some quiet hours by myself and I had this amazing amethyst teardrop cabochon. I often get the feedback from customers and friends that they are looking for something purple. I believe my guarding angel was leading my hands to create this piece which has found its owner within hours after creating. I am nearly finishing its twin sister for my ETSY shop to be ready to list and sell.

Amethyst Dreams- Arjumand’s Bracelet

“Taj Mahal stands in the city of Agra, in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, on the banks of the Yamuna River. It was built in the memory of the beautiful Arjumand Bano Begum, who won the heart of a Mughal prince. She was married at 21 to Emperor Jahangir’s third son Prince Khurram and stayed loyally by his side through good times and bad: in the luxurious royal palaces of Agra as well as the transient tents of war camps. In AD 1628, Khurram became king after a bloody battle of succession: he took the name Shahjahan or “King of the World” and showered his beloved begum with the highest titles. She became Mumtaz Mahal, the exalted of the palace and Mumtaz-ul-Zamani, the exalted of the Age. But Mumtaz Mahal was not destined to be queen for long.

In 1631, Shahjahan went on an expedition to the south and, as always, Mumtaz Mahal accompanied him. But she died in childbirth at Burhanpur. She had borne Shahjahan fourteen children, of whom four sons and three daughters survived. When Mumtaz Mahal died, she was just 39 years old. Shahjahan was inconsolable and contemporary chronicles tell of the royal court mourning for two years. there was no music, no feasting, and no celebration of any kind.

Shahjahan, who was a passionate builder, now decided to erect a memorial to his queen in pristine marble that the world would never forget. The site selected for the tomb was a garden by the Yamuna river, unshadowed by any other structure. The site was also chosen because it was located on a bend in the river, and so could be seen from Shahjahan’s personal palace in Agra Fort, further upstream.

This piece was made up of beautiful genuine teardrop shape amethyst cabochon (18x13 mm), 2 charoite rectangles and 2 rare round purple maxican turquoise gemstones surrounded by Higther Metallic Plum Iris, pale whisteria, gold lustered fuchsia, purple metallic iris and bronze Tohos (11 colours in purple and bronze). White and golden freshwater pearls give more texture to the bracelet so as Toho Cubes and Bugles and also 2 silver coloured vintage buttons.

Bracelet measures 1 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches (38 x 220 mm)- with 2 1/2 inch (65 mm) diameter. The foundation and backing is wild plum coloured Toray Ultrasuede. The base is an adjustable brass cuff.
